WELCOME TO ISR ROSEVILLE

The Premier Self-Rescue® Swim Lesson Program

Proudly serving families & communities in
Placer, Sacramento, Nevada,
and El Dorado Counties

How ISR is DIFFERENT from other swim programs

Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) is not your typical/traditional style swim school.
Our program is focused on teaching life-saving skills that could make all the difference in an emergency.
Unlike traditional swim lessons, we customize each lesson to your child's individual age, needs,
and abilities, ensuring they gain confidence and competence in the water through learning self-rescue® skills.
Skills that can save your child's life should they ever find themselves alone in the water.

OUR MISSION
"Not One More Child Drowns"

reflects our "WHY" and is the
driving force behind everything we do at
ISR Roseville.

Meet Our Instructors

  • Keely Heinzen

Hi there, my name is Keely. I have lived in Roseville for over 24 years. Unfortunately, aquatic accidents are not foreign to me. Right out of college, I worked for a man who lost his 2-year-old son to drowning. This sweet little boy walked out the front door of his home, down the street, and into the gate (that was propped open) to their community pool. There are no words to describe the grief and sadness that I watched my boss and his family go through, something I never want to experience again.

Years later, when our daughter was two years old, I found her trying to get into the gate of our backyard pool. I immediately had flashbacks of the horror I watched my former boss and his family go through. I knew I had to do something. This is when I found ISR and enrolled our daughter in lessons. Hearing that the Instructor teaching our daughter would be moving on to another career, I began the process of becoming an Instructor. I had the honor to train under one of ISR's best Senior Master Instructors, Jan Orwick, who has been teaching ISR for over 40 years. The wisdom and skill she shared with me have been invaluable. I founded ISR Roseville in 2014 and am so happy to be celebrating my 10th anniversary this year! I have taught over 40,000 lessons in my career and loved every second of it. I genuinely believe THIS is why I am here on earth… to help children learn the skills to survive should they find themselves in the water unnoticed.

In college, I met my husband, Todd (Mr. Todd - ISR Roseville), and earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with an emphasis on teaching. Over the years, I gravitated towards working with young children and babies. I owned and operated my own preschool and worked for the Roseville, Rocklin, Eureka, and Loomis School Districts. In addition, I taught science classes to children in the local homeschool community and taught English and math to children in South Korea. I love teaching, and I love the wee little ones.

FUN FACTS: I am a CRAZY Cat Lady! I volunteer and foster kittens for FieldHaven Feline Center in Lincoln, CA. I love to travel and crochet and have a passion for healthy eating. I care deeply about environmental issues and love all the animals on this earth.

  • Todd Heinzen

Hello, my name is Todd. I live in Roseville, CA, with my wife Keely (Ms. Keely - ISR Roseville) and our four children. I am originally from Half Moon Bay, CA, and grew up quite literally in the water. With our house just a stone's throw from the beach, I could usually be found either climbing the scenic cliffs, attempting to shoot jackrabbits with my bow and arrow in the many open fields near our home (never successfully!), or doing one of many ocean activities from boogie boarding to fishing out of Pillar Point Harbor. I started competitive swimming at six years old with the now-defunct Cabrillo Clippers at Half Moon Bay High School and completed my swimming career at California State University, Chico. After graduation, I pursued a career in outside sales for the next 25 years. In 2018, I decided to change careers and join my wife Keely as an ISR instructor. What a relief!

I am ecstatic to have the opportunity to be part of something so important and potentially life-changing. I am honored to be the first step of many children's journey to becoming safe and confident swimmers. Swimming is something you can do as a one-year-old or a 99-year-old!

FUN FACT: I love traveling and adventures, from hitchhiking around Europe to working on a factory trawler in the Bering Sea to backpacking around Guatemala. I've been very fortunate to have some amazing adventures and look forward to more.

  • Marissa Janney

Hello, my name is Marissa. For over three decades, I have called Roseville, California, my cherished home. Alongside my husband, a retired Roseville Police Officer, we've raised our two children and cultivated deep connections and friendships within our community.

I am originally from the small town of Weed, CA, in the northern reaches of California. I moved to Sacramento, CA, to advance my education. While my professional path initially led me through a slightly different route into the corporate world, focusing on product marketing and facilities management, my true passion emerged when I discovered a dedication to corporate workplace safety. This passion has blossomed into a heartfelt mission centered on water safety education and drowning prevention strategies for our families, and making it the highest priority for their children’s safety. This commitment includes teaching children vital aquatic problem-solving skills through ISR self-rescue swim lessons.

Becoming a Certified ISR Instructor felt like discovering my true purpose. I am driven by creativity, compassion, and the desire to empower children with crucial self-rescue and water safety skills. I have devoted nearly two decades to maintaining my Child/Infant CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications, and completed the IBCCES 4 CEU training requirements for the Aquatics - Autism Certificate program.

Keely, Todd, and I share a longstanding friendship that began when our children were involved in high school swim and water polo teams. After completing my ISR certification and training in Naples, Florida, I eagerly joined forces with Keely and Todd at ISR Roseville. Together, we're passionately committed to expanding our impact, reaching more and more families in Placer County and beyond. Our united mission of preventing childhood drownings by reaching as many children before they reach the water alone runs deeper and wider than any ocean.

Being part of the ISR family and collaborating with extraordinary friends like Keely and Todd fills me with daily gratitude and excitement.

FUN FACTS: While my homemade chocolate chip cookies have earned quite a reputation when I'm not baking, you'll find me embracing outdoor adventures, catching a movie, or simply enjoying quality time with friends and family.
